“It is not difficult to make the ordinary extraordinary!

The magic lies in one’s willingness to put oneself out there to make something happen.

Just do it!”

Linda Sweet has over 38 years of educational and administrative experience at the elementary school level.  She has taught at a variety of grade levels in both public and private educational settings. She holds a Masters Degree in School Administration, certificates in Special and Gifted Education and has training in Early Childhood Education.  Mrs. Sweet’s commitment to incorporate progressive and innovative learning techniques into her classrooms is ongoing.  She has also been an active participant and leader in a wide variety of education, sport, charity, and community forums.

Linda Sweet founded Glenburnie School, a private co-educational school for students from Preschool to Grade 8 in Oakville, Ontario in 1985.  A key focus of the school is addressing a major contemporary challenge - “How do we best educate our children in a rapidly evolving technological world?”   Her passion is identifying and applying new educational approaches and best practices to address this challenge.

Sweet’s educational philosophy focuses on the whole child.  To enhance learning opportunities for students beyond traditional education, she employs trend-leading educational models such as differentiated instruction and best business practices. She also regularly consults current brain/neuroscience research in the ongoing development of more productive, supportive learning environments, where students are accountable in their path to success and individual accomplishment. Students become active partners in the learning process in a nurturing environment which supports and accelerates their potential to excel.
